Mubarik Mohamed, MD, ABO is a board-certified and fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in cataract, cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery. His clinical interests include cataract surgery, corneal transplantation, refractive procedures, ocular surface disease, and the medical and surgical management of complex corneal disorders. He is committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care while advancing innovation in ophthalmology through research, education, and service.

A native of Westerville, Ohio, Dr. Mohamed graduated Magna Cum Laude with Research Distinction from The Ohio State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. He went on to receive his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine, where he was awarded the Dean’s Scholarship and graduated with distinction.

Dr. Mohamed completed his internship in internal medicine at the University of Utah, followed by his ophthalmology residency at the John A. Moran Eye Center, where he served on multiple leadership and educational committees. He then completed advanced fellowship training in corneal, external disease, and refractive surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, refining his expertise in advanced corneal and anterior segment surgery and the treatment of complex ocular surface disease.

Throughout his training, Dr. Mohamed has remained actively involved in academic medicine, clinical research, mentorship, and community outreach. His work has been supported by nationally recognized honors, including the Gates Foundation and American Academy of Ophthalmology. Outside of his clinical practice, Dr. Mohamed enjoys spending time with family and friends, following college football, and cheering on his alma mater, the Ohio State Buckeyes. As a lifelong Ohio native, he values giving back to his community and appreciates opportunities to connect with patients and their families beyond the exam room.
