Get to Know Dr. Tyler Berger

Dr. Tyler Berger, M.D is a fellowship trained ophthalmologist specializing in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma. During his fellowship, he received additional training in complex cataract surgery, iris repair and secondary intraocular lens fixation.

Dr. Berger is a native of Pittsburgh, PA. He completed his undergraduate at Mercyhurst University graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then went on to complete his medical education at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, graduating in the top 10% of his class. After completing his internship in Internal Medicine at Allegheny General Hospital, he completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Cincinnati followed by a Glaucoma fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Berger has received several awards and honors. He was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society while in medical school. During his residency, he was awarded the Outstanding Surgical award and the Alan and Karen Zalta Research Award for his clinical research during residency. Dr. Berger has published in numerous peer reviewed journals and served as a speaker at both regional and national conferences.
